I’m not a chef, but I do like to cook. Fortunately, there is a great show made especially for people like me called America’s Test Kitchen. I like it so much that I wanted to make my own show, completely ripping them off. But it turns out that’s kind of expensive, plus the people at PBS are ruthless with tote bags where their hearts should be, so instead I’m doing this blog.
Yeah, yeah, I know. The internet is already flooded with America’s Test Kitchen fan sites, message boards host fierce debates over Chris Kimball’s bow tie, and in a corner somewhere Rachel Ray is crying with fists balled in rage. So why add to the chaos? Well the answer is quite simple. I’m bored and I doubt anyone will read this anyway.
On to Business,
I’ll pick a recipe, try to make it, and document the results. I’ll take photos, write something witty, that sort of thing. I won’t always have the necessary equipment, and my kitchen is pretty tiny, but I’ll try and make dough. (Anybody?) In all seriousness, I am a fan of the show and this is my tribute to it, but about 30% of what I write will be nonsensical things that I think are funny.
Ergo…
One of the big themes in America’s Test Kitchen, or “The Kitch” as I like to call it, is experimentation. So, I too am experimenting and will present my findings here.
